Commissions
Commissioned Work
Interested in a commissioned work?
If you’d like to order a commission from me, this is how my process works.
Step 1 | Decide on the type of work you want
Decide on the medium you’d like for your work.
I offer oils, charcoal, pen and ink, and also additional prints of your commission if you want copies. Have a look at the works in my gallery for a better idea of how each of these looks.
Oil paintings are produced on canvas stretched over a timber frame (but can be removed and rolled for easier shipping if necessary).
Pen, ink, and charcoal works are produced on paper.
Prints are additional digital copies of your original commission on paper. These are quoted on separately when requested.
Decide on the medium you want your work created in.
Step 2 | place your order
Next, fill in the form below. Make sure you upload your photo with it. Once you’ve submitted it, I’ll receive it in my inbox and email you back within 48 hours to let you know I’ve received it. I’ll also include any additional questions in my reply.
Step 3 | deposit payment
Once we’ve finalised exactly what you want, I will send you a tax invoice for your 50% deposit to be paid. This will include shipping costs (local or international) if you need your order delivered. Once work has commenced, your deposit is non-refundable.
Any refunds requested before work commences will incur a R200 admin cost which will be deducted from your refund.
Payment can be made using the Zapper code on the tax invoice or by EFT using the banking details on the invoice. You will need to send proof of payment to me via the Whatsapp number displayed on the invoice. Use your invoice number for your payment reference.
Once I’ve received proof of your payment, I can schedule your commission into my diary. I will email or message you and let you know when I will be working on your project and approximately when you can expect the final product.
Step 4 | Commencement of your commission
Progress pics are supplied on request so please make sure you indicate this on the order form. Any changes need to be made during the work process as it’s difficult to make them after completion. You can expect your commissioned work to take between 2 and 4 weeks, depending on my schedule and the size of your commissioned work.
Step 5 | Payment balance + order release
When your commissioned work is complete, I’ll send you a photo of it as proof that it’s finished. Payment balance will then be required before it can be collected from me or delivered to you. Once proof of payment of the balance has been received, I will let you know via email or message when you can collect your order, or when you can expect delivery of it.
Should you decide that you don’t want your order once it is complete, or fail to pay the balance within 30 days, it will be uploaded to my online gallery for selling.
