A real symbolic South African flower, and a flower that brings me memories of my youth as we had them growing in abundance in our garden at home.
I really enjoyed how I could ‘draw’ with the ink (straight out of the bottle ) as well as using it with a variety of mark-making tools (like cardboard and rubber tools) to create washes of ink. The ink is difficult to control which allowed me to take on a far looser approach.
